How Pacific Industries sees every store in Papua New Guinea
The bottler behind Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Mountain Dew and Sting in Papua New Guinea now hears from every province the same day.

Pacific Industries bottles and distributes Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Mountain Dew and Sting across Papua New Guinea. Its field team keeps those brands in front of shoppers in stores across the country, from supermarkets in Port Moresby to trade stores in the Highlands.
02Weeks, not days
Papua New Guinea is a hard place to see from head office. Roads are long, signal comes and goes, and much of the trade is small independent stores. Reports came in from the provinces as spreadsheets that were slow to arrive and hard to trust, and leadership was left guessing what was really on the shelf.
03Every visit, read the same day
Reps now open the Tempo app at each store. It works without signal and sends everything once the phone reconnects. They photograph the shelf and the cooler, count stock and take orders in one short visit, and Tempo checks the work before they leave.
Tempo reads every photo for Pacific Industries: which of its range is on the shelf, how much space it holds, and whether the cooler at the front of the store is the one the business placed there. Automated reports on distribution and compliance land every day, so managers see the gaps and opportunities in every region and depot while they can still act.
04Time to act
The biggest change is speed. A missing brand, an empty cooler or a store that has not been visited shows up the day it happens, while there is still time to act.
Pacific Industries deployed Tempo in one month. Its field team now logs thousands of store visits every month, and the same visits feed its coolers, its orders and its route planning.
“From Port Moresby I can see what every rep in every region did today. I spend my time fixing execution instead of chasing reports.”
